So many good books! Here is what I'm looking forward to in the upcoming months as we start to squeeze the last bits of summer in and inch closer to fall reading. The fall is shaping up to be quite the season for new releases, but some great ones are rounding out the summer; here's what I'm excited for!
Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder out(7/20) is described as dark and funny and tackles the theme of motherhood freshly and uniquely.
All's Well by Mona Awad (out 8/3) because I read Awad's novel Bunny a few summers back, and it was strange as heck, but I was obsessed so I cannot wait to see what this new novel has in store.
The Mismatch by Sara Jafari (out 8/3) sounds like an absolutely heartwarming coming-of-age story mixed with a bit of family drama and romance.
Intimacies by Katie Kitamura (out 8/5) was recommended on Obama's summer reading list, so, yes, I'm interested.
Mrs. March by Virginia Feito (out 8/10) sounds like a great mystery novel. I've been dipping my toes more into the mystery pool this summer, and I love a good historical fiction mystery with a rich atmosphere and this sounds like it will fit the bill.
The Shimmering State by Meredith Westgate (out 8/10) is intriguing because it has a dystopian element. It's been compared to Karen Thompson Walker's books, and I love her novels.
Matrix by Lauren Groff (out 9/7) is one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I'm a big Lauren Groff fan, and she's taking on nuns in her newest novel so I look forward to seeing what's in store.
Beautiful World, Where Are You by Sally Rooney (out 9/7) because it's Sally Rooney, and I will always read what she publishes. That's the entire reason.
Fault Lines by Emily Itami (out 9/7) has been getting a lot of buzz. This debut explores female identity and asks the question "who am I, and how did I get here?".
See any that caught your eye? I'd love to know if you end up adding any of these to your stack!
